“On March 8, 2013 in Rome, on the occasion of the World Women’s Day event, some activists, created on a suburban wall of the city, the inscription “FEMINISTS” . A few days later, next to it, appeared the term “fuck,” which deliberately changed its meaning. After a brief internal discussion, the activists decided NOT to intervene on the defacement, as it corroborated and underscored the terms of the protest itself, but created in front of it a new inscription that read “YOU ARE NOT ALONE.” Starting from this episode, from which the provocative and disturbing title takes its cue, the documentary questions and explores the capacity of art to convey important political messages, of struggle, of identity, and of reappropriation of spaces, through a unique and at the same time collective gaze, never binary, encompassing various gender identities and new forms of expression. Through the invaluable contribution of the experts, and by means of the biographical account and works of some of the most interesting and talented urban art artists on the international scene, the film, recounts, in multiple voices, a space and discipline that is constantly changing and evolving, opening up a stimulating and creative debate.

Alice Rotiroti
Erika Segni Alice Rotiroti è autrice, regista, sceneggiatrice, fotografa e insegnante di scrittura. Nel 2019 ha ricevuto il premio FEDIC come "Autore emergente". Nel 2020 ha vinto il bando Film Commission Sardegna con la sceneggiatura del lungometraggio "L'ultima riga delle cose" diretto dal regista Enrico Pau attualmente in produzione. Nel 2021 è vincitrice del contributo selettivo del MIBACT per la scrittura della serie TV "TRE". Come regista ha scritto e diretto nel 2018 il cortometraggio "[a-live]" che indaga il rapporto tra arte e suicidio ponendo l'arte come elemento salvifico, vincitore di diversi festival nazionali e internazionali e molto apprezzato anche negli ambienti della psicoanalisi; nel 2020 scrive e dirige il cortometraggio "MEZZAGIORNATA" che si ispira alle vicende della Seawatch e del suo capitano Carola Rackete; e nel 2023 produce e dirige il lungometraggio documentario "FUCK FEMINISTS-voci femministe nel mondo della street art".
Sempre nel 2023 esce “LA POÉSIE EST LÀ OÙ ON NE L’ATTEND PAS”, una raccolta di testi poetici e immagini scattate in oltre 20 paesi del mondo. Hai fatto parte di numerose giurie di festival cinematografici e come docente hai preso parte a laboratori di scrittura per il cinema.
Si è laureata in psicologia, ha studiato fotografia con Letizia Battaglia e fotolinguaggio con Giudy Waiser oltre ad aver frequentato il laboratorio di regia del Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia di Roma. In precedenza hai lavorato in residenze psichiatriche a stretto contatto con il disagio mentale che è diventato uno dei temi centrali della tua ricerca artistica insieme alla lotta, alla questione dell'identità di genere e alla questione “femminile” in tutte le sue forme.
