“Simme Tutt’uno” explores the resilience of the Scampia community, telling the challenges of its residents in addressing the widespread educational and material poverty that still affects the neighborhood as a result of decades of government negligence. At the center of the story are the tireless efforts of a united network of associations and individual citizens determined to promote the cultural growth of the neighborhood and guarantee young people the necessary opportunities to shape their own destiny in full freedom. Through these instances of resistance and rebirth, a hymn to awakening from torpor shines for an awareness of the responsibilities and rights of every citizen.

DIRECTOR

Alice Franchi

She was born in Bologna, nurturing from a young age a passion for stories in all their forms: from radio to literature, and eventually the world of cinema and visual arts. She has always felt a strong need to fulfill the desire to learn, to challenge perspectives, and to dedicate her time and voice to telling the countless stories—big or small—that help shape who we are and reflect the various facets of the society around us.

After graduating from the Marco Minghetti Classical High School, she decided to move to London to study film at the University of Westminster. There, she had the opportunity to apply her skills by directing her first documentary, Simme Tutt’uno, as her graduation project. This directorial experience enriched her not only professionally but also personally, allowing her to explore new perspectives and narrative, stylistic, and ethical approaches.

She is excited to continue exploring different stories and realities through her work and to further develop the nuances that her voice and narrative approach will take on in future projects.
