The Women Gaze

meeting curated by Silvia Lelli, (anthropologist, professor at the University of Florence and director of the scientific committee DocuDonna) with the students of the school of cinema “Stories of Cinema” of Grosseto.

Open to the public.

11.30 am –  12.30 pm

Presentation of the documentary “Lost in Maremma” collective directing project by the students of the film school “Storie di Cinema” of Grosseto.  The director of the school, Francesco Falaschi (director and screenwriter) will give a short speech.

3.15 pm

Opening

Silvia Lelli (director of the scientific committee) and Cristina Berlini (artistic director and founder of the festival) will present the programme, the guests of the two days of the edition and the films in competition and out of competition of the DocuDonna 2020 edition.

Presentation of the book “nuove contadine” by Valentina Iacopini with the preface by Rossano Pazzagli. Both present in the hall.

Some of the authors will be present in the theatres to tell this unique experience together with one of the founders of the Mujeres nel Cinema group, Giulia Rosa D’Amico, who will talk about the unexpected popularity of this group dedicated to professionals from the world of cinema and show business (9000 inscribed in a few months).

From 25th to 27th November 2020 DocuDonna and the historic international festival “Cinema e Donna” in Florence (at its 41st edition) together for a three days dedicated to women’s cinema, at the Cinema La Compagnia in Florence.

The titles of the selected documentaries will be announced by the end of August 2020

Silvia Lelli (director of the scientific committee) and Cristina Berlini (artistic director and founder of the festival) will give a presentation of the documentaries in competition, the directors, the jury members and the guests present.

Updates and change strategies on the professional position of women in the world of cinema. Conversations between Teresa Sala (director), Giulia Rosa D’Amico, one of the founders of Mujeres nel Cinema (a group dedicated to professionals in the world of cinema and entertainment with 9000 members in a few months has become an important point of reference and exchange for all) and Mariangela Barbanente (screenwriter and DEA collaborator (women and audiovisual) CNR research project.
